The Mandelman-Ribak Foundation is a non-profit organization in Taos, New
Mexico, formed to preserve and perpetuate the art and ideas of Beatrice
Mandelman (1912 - 1998) and her husband Louis Ribak (1902 - 1979), who
moved from New York City to Taos in 1944. Mandelman and Ribak were at
the core of the Taos Moderns, a group of artists who brought the
concepts of Modernism, abstract expressionism and color theory to Taos
in the 1940s and 1950s, thereby establishing Taos as a unique outpost of
Modernist Art in New Mexico.
